Oregon State quarterback Ben Gulbranson ends his tenure with Beavers

Ben Gulbranson, a quarterback at Oregon State, has left the Beavers football program.

The Oregonian/OregonLive was informed by a source that Gulbranson will not be on the team’s roster come springtime. Gulbranson is not in the transfer portal, according to the source. Since Gulbranson just finished his master’s degree, it seems doubtful that he enrolled at OSU for the winter quarter.

When The Oregonian/OregonLive texted Gulbranson for comment, he did not respond. Gulbranson has stated that after his football playing days were over, he hoped to attend medical school.

Gulbranson made 12 starts in his career and started three of the Beavers’ last four games. On November 23, Gulbranson led OSU to a 41-38 victory over Washington State, passing for 943 yards and four touchdowns. Throughout his time with the Beavers, he threw for 2,648 yards.

Gulbranson joins Dom Montiel and Gevani McCoy as the third quarterback from the 2024 Beavers to depart the program. Montiel, a walk-on who played for OSU for three years, and McCoy, who started nine games this season, are both on the transfer portal.

Redshirt freshman Kallen Gutridge, rising sophomore Gabarri Johnson, and Duke transfer Maalik Murphy are currently Oregon State’s quarterbacks. Tristan Ti, a Pleasanton, California high school senior, is anticipated to sign with OSU in February.
