1 dead in SW Beaverton crash

According to authorities, a car in southwest Beaverton collided with a pole on Sunday, killing one person.

According to a Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue spokeswoman, rescue personnel were called at approximately 6:30 p.m. regarding a collision in a residential area close to Southwest Erickson Avenue and Berthold Street.

The individual’s name has not yet been made public by authorities.

The deadly collision occurred the day after Portland’s first traffic death of the year, when a driver in North Portland lost his life after colliding his vehicle with a pole.
