Oregon football defensive tackle Derrick Harmon declares for 2025 NFL draft

In 2025, Oregon will have a new defensive tackle on the field.

On Monday, defensive tackle Derrick Harmon of the Ducks announced his intention to enter the NFL draft.

Time really does fly by. Harmon posted on Instagram. I am grateful to God for granting me the ability to play this game, which I have loved since I was a child. I am grateful to my parents and family for their love and support throughout this journey. None of this would be possible without all of you!

From little league to high school, I am grateful to all of my coaches for mentoring and encouraging me from an early age. I am grateful to coach Mel Tucker and Spartan Nation for providing me with a home in East Lansing that I will always call home. I also want to express my gratitude to coach Lanning for bringing me to Oregon and for believing in me. I also want to express my gratitude to the supporters during the season. Autzen Stadium will always be remembered thanks to you all. The bonds we forged with the men will extend well beyond the locker room. You guys will always be my bros. You are aware that this goes beyond football. After much prayer and family debate, I’m going to declare for the NFL draft!

This season, the redshirt junior recorded a career-high 45 tackles (10.5 for loss), five sacks, four pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

Nose tackle Jamaree Caldwell has yet to choose whether to use his extra year of eligibility as a former junior college player, leaving UO with 84 expected scholarship players in 2025, including nine interior defensive linemen.
