Portland weather forecast for holiday week calls for rain, rain, rain

You still have time to add waterproof parkas, rain boots, and umbrellas to your wish lists for Hanukkah and Christmas.

And this week, you’ll need them in Portland.

There will be a lot of rain from Sunday through Saturday, including Christmas and the first night of Hanukkah on Wednesday.

Another recurring theme all week long? The National Weather Service reports the temperature.

With the rain, Sunday’s high temperature is predicted to reach 52 degrees. According to the weather service, the high will remain that way for the majority of the week, with the exception of Wednesday, when it might only reach 49 degrees.

Until Monday evening, a high surf advisory is in force along the coast.
