Top secretary of state staffers resign ahead of leadership change

Ahead of the impending leadership change, a number of senior employees in the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office have quit in recent weeks. In January, newly elected Secretary of State Tobias Read will succeed LaVonne Griffin-Valade.

During the past week, several senior employees have announced their resignations, including Audit Director Kip Memmott and Elections Director Molly Woon. Within the past month, other employees have resigned, including Legislative Director Kathy Wai, Deputy Secretary of State Cheryl Myers, and Chief of Staff Ben Morris.
