Monday is another rainy day in Portland

Since so many final school weeks in December have begun for Portland schoolchildren over the ages: Rainy, the last week of classes for the majority of Portland students will begin in 2024.

The National Weather Service predicts that the morning rain will change to showers, which are a distinct type of rain, in the afternoon.

Those showers will revert to rain throughout night.

If nothing else, the rain will remain liquid. With an overnight low of 44 degrees, Monday’s high should be approximately 49 degrees.

With high temperatures hanging around 50 degrees and rain, rain, and the possibility of rain, the remainder of the week will be similarly favorable for the Portland area’s plant and mold life.

What about during the winter break when schools are not in session? According to the AccuWeather extended forecast, there will be rain.

The good news for anyone going to the mountains this week is that the rain will turn to snow.

If you intend to travel up and enjoy a different kind of rain, be sure you’re ready for winter driving as the National Weather Service is warning of heavy snow in the Cascades through Tuesday.
