Portland man arrested on allegations of repeated public indecency in Aloha

A Portland man who allegedly exposed himself to ladies at least ten times in the past several months was taken into custody by deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that 36-year-old Derrick James Bonn is accused with at least two counts of public indecency.

Since October, the sheriff’s office had been looking into claims that a guy was exposing himself to women. Bonn was delivering copies of The Oregonian when the majority of the reported occurrences occurred in the Cooper Mountain neighborhood of Aloha. He works for an independent distributor rather than The Oregonian.

According to sheriff’s officers, he allegedly exposed himself to ladies in nine of the occasions when they were either walking or jogging in the early morning or inside their houses. According to authorities, he would frequently exit his maroon 2004 Ford Focus to approach the women or show himself in their windows.

John Maher, president of Oregonian Media Group, said, “We are extremely grateful to law enforcement for their hard work and offer our sincere condolences to the victims impacted by these abhorrent acts.” The contract for this person has been suspended, and we will cooperate with our contract distributor to provide any assistance to law enforcement in their investigation.

Investigators think there might be more persons he exposed himself to who haven’t come forward, and they’re asking anyone who knows anything to contact them at 503-846-2700.
