Portland weekend weather: Showers with a chance of thunderstorms

The Portland area is set for a fantastic weekend.

The National Weather Service says Saturday’s prediction is for showers with a chance of thunderstorms after 4 p.m. It is predicted to rain between 1/10 and 1/4 inch, but if thunderstorms occur, the total may be higher. About 50 degrees will be the high.

More showers and the potential for thunderstorms are expected on Saturday night, with a low of about 39.

According to the meteorological service, there is a 40% possibility that the showers will continue on Sunday before 10 a.m. and return after 4 p.m. It is predicted to be partly sunny with a high of 48 degrees in the middle of the day.

Rain is predicted to begin the workweek on Monday, with up to 1/2 inch of fresh precipitation. About 49 degrees will be the high.
