Private equity-owned Quorum Health in talks to take over operations at Oregon Coast hospital

In the midst of severe financial difficulties, Bay Area Hospital management are pursuing a private equity-owned healthcare organization to take over operations at the Coos Bay institution.

This week, Quorum Health, the owner of McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, and the 172-bed public, nonprofit hospital—the biggest on Oregon’s coast—signed a nonbinding statement of intent to discuss a transaction.
