After being taken into custody Wednesday evening, a man accused of stabbing a convenience store in North Portland passed away, according to authorities.
Shortly after 10 p.m., officers found a guy who had been stabbed at the convenience store located at North Interstate Avenue and Going Street, according to a statement from the Portland Police Bureau. After being transported to a local hospital, the sufferer is anticipated to make a full recovery.
A suspect, a guy, was immediately found by officers two blocks north near North Interstate and Humboldt Street. He was taken into custody and placed in handcuffs without any opposition or coercion, according to the police. The suspect passed away while paramedics were their route to the site after the cops requested that they arrive.
The victim of the stabbing and the deceased man have not been publicly identified by authorities.
According to customary bureau procedure, the officers—who have also not yet been publicly identified—have been placed on administrative leave.
