Timberline Lodge announced on Sunday morning that there will be roughly 5 inches of fresh powder due to snowfall in the North Oregon Cascades.
At elevations above 3,000 feet, snow is predicted to persist throughout the day and may bring in an additional 3 to 6 inches of snow, according to National Weather Service meteorologist David Bishop.
In the mountains, a winter weather advisory is in force until approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday. Traveling across the Santiam Pass and close to Government Camp may be challenging, according to the Weather Service, which advises drivers to pack emergency supplies like food, water, and tire chains.
In the meanwhile, Portland will see a high of roughly 50 degrees on Sunday as the rain continues. According to Bishop, the skies should clear up to begin the workweek. With high temperatures below fifty degrees, forecasters predict mostly bright skies on Monday, clouds on Tuesday, and partial sun on Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday are probably going to see more rain.
