The Seattle Seahawks are in charge of their postseason fate and are playing at the ideal moment.
The Seahawks defeated the Arizona Cardinals 30-18 on Sunday in Arizona to win their fourth straight game. In the NFC West, the Seahawks (8-5) continued to hold the top spot.
The Seahawks’ comeback defense intercepted two passes from Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, while backup running back Zach Charbonnet raced for a career-high 134 yards and two scores to lead Seattle to victory.
Prior to the game, the Seahawks’ rushing assault, which has been having trouble lately, suffered a setback when star rusher Kenneth Walker was out due to a calf injury. They ran for a season-high 176 yards, their most in a game since they ran for 133 yards against Detroit in Week 4, proving they didn’t miss Walker.
Since Walker’s 167 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7 of the 2022 season, Charbonnet’s rushing total was the highest by a Seahawks back.
Following the game, Charbonnet told reporters that the tight ends, line, and receivers all went out there and gave it their all. They simply made things simple for me; all I needed to do was make a guy miss, and everything would work out. I give those folks all the credit up front.
A 51-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was one of Charbonnet’s highlights of the day.

After the game, Charbonnet told reporters, “Those were great blocks with both those dudes pulling, it just made it easier for me and I just had to take it.” Take it out the back door after reading them off. Nobody else was still out there. Bravo to those men.
After a dismal start, Seattle’s defense got the team rolling early.
On a 41-yard ball from Murray to wide receiver Michael Wilson, who scorched cornerback Coby Bryant, Arizona went 70 yards for a touchdown on the first possession. Murray was intercepted by the Seahawks defense on the Cardinals’ next two possessions.
From a defensive standpoint, I believe that our unit is simply growing closer as a group and fraternity. After the game, linebacker Ernest Jones IV told reporters, “We’re out there playing relentless as well.” We are not concerned with the events or the results of plays; instead, we are performing each play as it is. Just working hard.
Jones returned the ball to the 19 after intercepting a Murray pass at the Arizona 31 for his first Seahawks interception.

The Seahawks quickly took advantage of the situation when quarterback Geno Smith hit wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba with a 19-yard throw.

At the Seattle 45, Bryant made amends by catching a Murray pass. Late in the first quarter, Charbonnet led 17–7 and never gave up the lead. They carried the football on the last three plays and finished with a 1-yard run for the score.
The Seahawks are now 5-1 overall while playing on the road after winning their fourth straight away game. The results of their next two games—a home game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday and a home game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16—will probably decide whether or not they win the division.
