Woman arrested after a 17-year-old boy was shot in North Portland

A 17-year-old kid was shot Friday night in North Portland, and a 37-year-old woman was taken into custody on Saturday.

According to investigators, the youngster is recuperating at a hospital.

On charges of second-degree attempted murder, second-degree assault, felon in possession of a firearm, and unauthorized use of a weapon, Natasha V. Molett was arrested and taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Friday, there was a gunfire reported in the 5000 block of North Vancouver Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered the injured 17-year-old and administered trauma first aid until emergency medical help could arrive.

Officers discovered that the suspect lived in a nearby apartment and was a woman. She was told to leave the flat as police surrounded it. The Crisis Negotiation Team and the Special Emergency Reaction Team arrived on the scene when she refused to comply. She ultimately came out and turned herself up, according to the police.
