Be prepared for freezing rain in Upper Hood River Valley until Saturday afternoon

At 8:13 a.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service released a forecast for the Upper Hood River Valley that called for freezing rain through 1 p.m.

“Light rains is starting to increase throughout the Hood River Valley this morning, trapping a thin layer of below-freezing temperatures. Parkdale, Glenwood, and Odell have reported patches of freezing rain. Light freezing rain will persist until 1200–1300 PST as temperatures gradually moderate up into the daytime hours. This morning’s 0.02-0.06-inch light ice accumulations might affect travel and cause slick conditions. According to the weather service, “use caution; slippery road conditions are difficult to see and can catch drivers off guard, increasing the risk of car accidents.”
