Oregon baseball coach Mark Wasikowski signs 3-year contract extension

This offseason, EUGENE Mark Wasikowski was given a three-year contract extension.

The terms of the expanded contract, which was signed in October and made public by The Oregonian/OregonLive this week, will pay the sixth-year baseball coach in Oregon $3.6 million over the next five years.

Under his contract through June 2026, Wasikowski was scheduled to make $660,000 in 2024–2025 and $675,000 in 2025–2026. He will make $680,000 this season, $700,000 in 2025–2026; $720,000 in 2026–2027; $740,000 in 2027–2028; and $760,000 in 2028–2029 under his current deal, which runs until June 2029.

If Wasikowski stays at UO until June 2026, he will be eligible for a retention bonus of $100,000. Wasikowski will get a $75,000 retention incentive if he remains at UO for the duration of the new deal and guides the Ducks to at least two NCAA Regional trips and one Super Regional in the five years.

His performance bonuses are $15,000 for finishing second in the Big Ten regular season or second in the conference tournament, and $25,000 for winning the conference tournament or finishing first in the regular season. Winning the conference tournament and regular season titles would be paid an additional $25,000, for a maximum of $75,000.

The value of an NCAA Regional appearance is $30,000, while the Super Regional, College World Series, and College World Series championship series appearances are each worth $50,000. The maximum incentives for the NCAA Tournament are $430,000, which includes $250,000 for winning the CWS.

Before the end of June 2025, Wasikowski’s buyout to depart UO had grown to $600,000. In the following years, the amount decreased to $400,000, $200,000, $100,000, and $50,000.
