Eugene One of the main reasons the No. 3 Nittany Lions are playing No. 1 Oregon in the Big Ten championship game is because of Drew Allar’s increased accuracy and effectiveness as the leader of Penn State’s offense.
This season, Allar is completing 71.6% of his passes, up from 59.9% the previous season, and his efficiency rating is up from 136.89 to 167.54. He has 2,668 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, five interceptions, and 225 rushing yards and five scores going into Saturday’s conference final game.
According to Oregon coach Dan Lanning, “I think composure is definitely one of the things that stick out.” being aware of their offensive plan. It’s about taking what’s available, in my opinion. This year, he has also made some extremely good throws in some fantastic windows. I believe he is aware of his players’ strengths and who he wants to pass the ball to.
Above all, a calm operator who can go out there and perform at a very high level while producing spectacular plays.

Allar’s worst games of the season, though, came against Ohio State and Illinois, two highly regarded opponents. Compared to 72.5% for 2,387 yards and all of his touchdown throws in 10 games against unranked teams, he combined to complete 65.9% of his passes for 281 yards with an interception in those games.
The Ducks’ perception of Allar, however, is unaffected by those statistical differences.
Nickel safety Brandon Johnson stated, “I think he’s a really good quarterback.” I believe he has a strong arm and is accurate.
Andy Kotelnicki, the first-year offensive coordinator who transferred from Kansas to PSU, has set up Allar for success.
RELATED: How will Tyler Warren, a tight end for Penn State, be limited by the defense of No. 1 Oregon football?
Kobe Savage, a safety for Oregon, claimed that Kotelnicki’s offense, which he faced at Kansas State, differs more in terms of tempo, moves, and personnel groups.
According to Savage, it’s a whole separate variant of the structure. By using diverse players, like Tyler Warren, and distributing the ball to the appropriate players, the defense is attempted to be dispersed and miscommunicated with.
Allar’s third-ranked pass defense this season will be Oregon. In terms of sacks, the Ducks lead the Big Ten with 39.
Who gets a Rose Bowl berth and a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff may depend on how well he handles pressure.
