Authorities say Monday’s shooting at a private Christian school in Wisconsin left five people dead and several more injured, including the alleged shooter.
When the number of fatalities increased from three to five, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes was addressing reporters. He stated that additional people were hurt in the shooting at Abundant Life Christian School but did not provide any information on the victims.
According to Barnes, the New York Daily News stated that a dead young person discovered at the scene might be the gunman.
Barnes claims that none of the responding officers fired their weapons during the shooting.
On Monday afternoon, the school’s surrounding roads were shut by police.
To support local law enforcement, agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives have arrived on the site.
As we wait for additional information, we are praying for the children, teachers, and entire Abundant Life school community. We are also thankful for the first responders who are responding swiftly, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said in a statement.
According to its website, Abundant Life Christian School is a nondenominational institution with over 390 students enrolled in kindergarten through high school.
