A 42-year-old man was taken into custody by police on Thursday in relation to a June murder in Northwest Portland.
Major Hudson Jr. was taken into custody by Portland police officers with assistance from U.S. Marshals. Hudson is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and second-degree murder in connection with the death of O Marr Burnett, age 51.
Officers responded to allegations of an incident in the 1900 block of Northwest Everett Street on June 12 and discovered Burnett seriously hurt. Burnett passed away two days after being transported to a hospital by emergency responders.
According to a medical examiner, homicidal violence was the cause of his death.
Police haven’t disclosed anything about the attack’s specifics or how they connected Hudson and Burnett. According to the authorities, Hudson is from Portland.
