Illinois isn’t just known for deep-dish pizza and harsh winters—it’s also home to some of the safest and wealthiest places to live in the U.S.
According to a recent ranking by GOBankingRates, four suburban Chicago villages have secured spots on the list of the 30 safest and richest cities to live in for 2024.
Remarkably, Illinois claimed the top two positions, with Western Springs leading the pack.
Western Springs, a village of just over 13,000 residents nestled between Hinsdale and La Grange, took the #1 spot.
The village boasts an average household income of $276,402 and a single-family home value of $763,060, making it a prime example of luxury living combined with safety.
Other Chicago suburbs also made the cut, proving that Illinois has more to offer than just its urban hustle and political dramas.
These rankings were determined by factors like average household income, cost of living, crime rates, and overall population.
