This holiday season, Portland has a lot to offer, including the White Stag sign’s red-glowing nose, Santa Claus, and Tuba Christmas. The list is endless.
However, there’s nothing better than visiting your neighborhood pub with lively décor and festive cocktails (and mocktails) if you want to keep warm, dry, and comfortable.
Four of Portland’s many bars with holiday themes are as follows:
Nightcap Before Christmas
The Nightcap Before Christmas at McMenamins Ringlers Annex at Crystal Hotel welcomes you into its warm underground setting, which is filled with tinsel and lights at every turn. Inside a snowman cup, the Silk Top Hat contains hot chocolate, brandy, spearmint liqueur, and a toasted marshmallow. Additionally, don’t forget to get some snowballs: toasted coconut and chocolate cake coated in marshmallow fluff.
The Crystal Hotel’s McMenamins Ringlers Annex is open Sunday through Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday from 3 to 11 p.m., and Saturday from 1 to 11 p.m. The pop-up will be gone by New Year’s Day.
Krampus
If you’re not feeling particularly festive, how about holiday fear? Raven s Manor combines its typical horror theme with the holidays, with the incorporation of Krampus. The holiday drink menu includes cocktails like The Grinch, which features rum, ginger and matcha, as well as mocktails like Fungus Amongus, which features mushroom, white peppercorn and plum.
Raven s Manor, 235 S.W. 1st Ave., Sunday-Thursday 5-11 p.m., Friday-Saturday 5 p.m.-midnight
Miracle
Miracle at Deadshot has plenty of Christmas trees, wrapping paper-draped walls and probably takes gold for the best holiday mug collection. Whether you re sipping out of a Santa pants mug, a barrel or a dinosaur in a Santa hat, you re sure to have a jolly time.
Deadshot, 2133 S.E. 11th Ave., Monday-Saturday 4 p.m.-midnight.Dec. 30is the last day for the pop-up.
Sleigh Love
Hey Love s pop-up, Sleigh Love, takes its cozy, plant-filled space to a new Christmas level. The eastside bar describes it as National Lampoon s Christmas Vacation but more, and located in a cocktail soaked plant paradise. Plenty of whipped cream and sprinkle-topped drinks (look for the boozy-slushees) are offered, and a handful of mocktails as well.
Hey Love, 920 E. Burnside St., Monday-Thursday 3 p.m.-midnight, Friday 3 p.m.-1 a.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-1 a.m. Dec. 30is the last day for the pop-up.
