3 ex-Oregon Ducks quarterbacks headed to NFL playoffs after leading teams to Week 18 wins

After leading their respective professional teams to victories in Week 18, all three of the former Oregon Ducks quarterbacks currently playing in the NFL are on their way to the playoffs.

After the Washington Commanders decided to rest starting quarterback Jayden Daniels in the second half, Marcus Mario guided the team to a 23-19 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Mariota sprinted for a score and finished 15 of 18 for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Next weekend, the Commanders (12-5) will travel to play the No. 3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a wild-card game after earning the sixth seed in the NFC playoffs.

The AFC’s top seed chose to rest the majority of its players, thus Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos faced a Kansas City club that was far from fully recovered. Nevertheless, Nix led the Broncos to a 38-0 thumping, which was astounding. He completed 18 consecutive throws at one point, went 26 of 29 for 321 yards, and passed for four touchdowns. The No. 7 seed Broncos will travel to play No. 2 Buffalo next weekend as a reward for Denver (10-7) earning the last AFC playoff slot.

Justin Herbert, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers, passed for 346 yards and two touchdowns as they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34–20. In coach Jim Harbaugh’s first season, Herbert also ran for 42 yards to help the Chargers win three straight games and earn a postseason berth. With the victory, the Chargers (11-6) secured the fifth seed in the AFC and will travel to the Houston Texans (No. 4) for the wild-card round the following weekend.
