A 23-year-old man is in critical condition following a brazen daylight shooting in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. when the victim was sitting inside a parked car in the 4600 block of South Damen Avenue. According to police, three gunmen approached the car, drew their weapons, and opened fire, striking the man in the back.
The injured man was quickly transported to Stroger Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Authorities have yet to apprehend the suspects, and Area One detectives are actively investigating the case.
This shooting adds to the growing concerns over gun violence in Chicago, as communities continue to grapple with incidents that leave victims fighting for their lives.
