Two members of a burglary ring that allegedly targeted over 100 eateries, bars, and other establishments in the Portland region since July have been apprehended by Multnomah County officials.
According to a news release from the district attorney’s office on Thursday, a grand jury indicted Joshua Patrick Lucero, 33, and Courtney Savannah Carlile, 27, on several counts of various offenses, including first-degree burglary.
Both defendants’ probable cause affidavits state that surveillance footage from several establishments taken between July and December demonstrates Lucero and Carlile conspiring to break into each establishment after hours in order to target and steal a safe or safes there.
According to the affidavits, the following companies are targeted: Baby Doll Pizza, two Grassa locations, Flattop & Salamander, Old Town Brewing Co., Pizza Roma, Bistro 23, Shamrock Bar & Grill, Flipside Bar & Carts, with Sasquatch Brewing Co.
The press announcement claims that video evidence purportedly showed the two and other individuals breaking into various establishments with a crowbar, bolt cutters, and other items. According to the press announcement, both Carlile and Lucero were recognizable at several break-ins since they were not hiding their faces.
According to the affidavits, both offenders have other felony cases pending in Clackamas and Washington counties.
Police suspect eight or more other people are involved in the burglary ring, the press release said. They’re still looking into it.
