A Gresham woman was given a year and a half in state jail for defrauding Oregon’s emergency rental assistance program out of tens of thousands of dollars.
The program was created to help renters avoid eviction during the epidemic, and in 2021, Terry Charboneau, 53, received $154,000. As part of a plea agreement, she was mandated to reimburse the state for the money.
