Everyone agrees that Oregon is a great place.
However, we can show it with hard facts. Oregon, along with its cities, villages, beaches, and cheese, was chosen the greatest and among the best in 2024.
These are a few of the state’s most noteworthy superlatives from this year.
Second best beach to visit in the spring
This unusually particular prize from Dive In Travel went to Cannon Beach.
No. 17 best beach to visit on Fourth of July
When SIXT ranked Bandon as the 17th-best place to visit in the United States on Independence Day, the situation became much more specific.
No. 4 best campground
Are our beaches everything that we are? Perhaps, but perhaps not. Bay Point Landing near Coos Bay was named the fourth-best campground in the nation by The Dyrt.
Best family-owned amusement park
Yes, our very own Enchanted Forest got this one in a readers’ choice survey conducted by Newsweek.
No. 10 best state for hikers
It seems odd that Oregon is ranked as the ninth best state for hikers by Kuru Footwear.
One of the top 50 places to visit in the world
I don’t mean to sound dramatic, but Portland is among the greatest cities in the world. In any case, Travel + Leisure stated as much in its unnumbered list.
One of the top 50 vacation destinations in the world
Forbes listed the Willamette Valley as one of the best destinations for 2024 vacations in another unnumbered list.
Best string cheese
Only those who hadn’t experienced it yet were surprised when the American Cheese Society awarded Don Froylan Creamery’s Liliana’s String Cheese the nation’s best string cheese for the second consecutive year.
One of the top 100 restaurants
Only one restaurant in Oregon, Newberg’s Rosmarino Osteria Italiana, was listed among OpenTable’s top 100 restaurants for 2024.
No. 9 most Instagrammable lake
To rank Crater Lake lower than one is nearly insulting, but FishinAquarium.com ranked it as the ninth most Instagrammed lake in the nation.
